Islam teaches its followers not to succumb to any kind of injustice .It guides them to fully resist enemies of Islam so that they cannot frustrate them through treacherous deeds, “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.” { Al-Quran 8:60}7 The verses of the Holy Scripture instruct Muslims to extend their hand towards enemy if they gave up violence so that peace can be established, “But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).” { Al-Quran 8:61}8

Suicide bombing to kill innocent civilians is the worst form of violence and Islam is totally against any kind of unwarranted violence to endorse its teachings. Its every word is for the betterment of humanity. Islam was devised by the Supreme Creator of the world. It is the final command and supreme message of Almighty Allah for the best interests of humanity. Anyone belonging to any sect of Islam who preaches unfair terrorism and undeserved violent means to endorse self-styled Sharia is doing no service to Islam. They are participant in the throng of those using their best endeavors to tarnish the image of Islam that is a religion of peace in its soul and spirit. Suicide bombers who are slaughtering innocent people of the world have no place in Islam. Islam has preached great respect for the sanctity of human life. “…take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.” { Al-Quran 6:151}9 The Holy Quran has condemned undue killing while at the same time it has preached respect for sanctity of human life. “Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).” { Al-Quran 17:33}10

No doubt some blinkered elements born in the Muslim families are being misguided by the bigoted fanatics who brainwash and use them for their personal agendas. But there is not single verse in Islamic teachings that preach killing of innocent people belonging to any sect or religion. Islam is derived from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It is a religion of harmony whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world. “If any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.” {Al-Quran 5:32}11 There is crying need to project true image of Islam, which spread in the past and is bound to trickle out in the future with force of intellect and sword of logic instead of muscle power. “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error.” {Al-Quran 2:25}12
