War is necessary for peace

War is necessary for peace is a half truth because one kind of war breeds war while other one is mandatory to establish lasting peace. I am not the supporter of unjust wars launched by usurpers to subjugate weak nation states but I am diehard proponent of just wars launched to safeguard fundamental rights of freedom and self-determination. Historical chapters are replete with uncountable paradigms which prove that peace emanating from the barrels of guns and cannons, and harmony gyrating from the flames of war always give birth long lasting impact on globe. War also gives impetus to boost global efforts to join heads to work for peace. Mao Zedong rightly said in “Problems of War and Strategy”, “We are advocates of the abolition of war, we do not want war; but war can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun.”
Peace in the western countries speak volumes that although there were massive casualties during two world wars on the European continent but now the war-loving nations that were once at daggers drawn have become peace loving neighbors. They are united in the form of European Union that has emerged strong regional bloc. Similarly, ASEAN is working as deterrent against eruption of war among the member states. Establishment of UNO is a byproduct of horrible wars. It has brought the international community on a single forum to resolve intricate issues to avert eruption of warfare in different parts of the world. Up till now this organization is successful in averting third world war that would be fought with chemical, biological and nuclear weapons that are present in the arsenal of several countries. Aristotle rightly said, “We make war that we may live in peace.”
Blood-stained chronological chapters bear testimony that when powerful countries fettered several states in the tentacles of colonialism, the natives fought tooth and nail to liberate their motherlands from the clutches of foreign invaders. Tell me a single colony that got independence without blood-spattered wars and conflicts!
China under the aegis of Mao Zedong, South Africa under the courageous leadership of Nelson Mandela, Vietnam under the brave surveillance of Ho Chi Minh and subcontinent under the sagacious leadership of Quaid-i-Azam and Gandhi presented unprecedented sacrifices while conflicting with colonial white masters to give their nations cherishable gifts of liberty and independence. After 9/11, America and its allies launched unwarranted wars on Iraq and Afghanistan. Recent revelations that America is negotiating with Taliban is sufficient evidence to prove that resistant native forces have compelled war-monger foreign aggressors to come to the negotiation table.
Conclusively, war and peace are intertwined with each other. Therefore, it is the duty of international peace loving community to support the people fighting for just cause. They should strongly oppose those looters who launched wars to safeguard their cheap Charlie concerns. Albert Camus Rightly Said,”[I]n such a world of conflict, a world of victims and executioners, it is the job of thinking people, not to be on the side of the executioners.” Therefore, one must hammer into mind that freedom and independence that are symbols of peace cannot be achieved through extending begging bowls before power lust dinosaurs; it can only be achieved through united mass action engrossed in gun battle.
